As Keith and Laura delve into the questions Jesus asks in scripture, your Stewardship and Giving team want to answer your questions about stewardship. Each week during our fall stewardship campaign, we have included questions and answers relating to stewardship in a bulletin insert. As we know not everyone was in church, we wanted to share them further and wider so if you missed it, you can also have your questions answered!
Each year members and friends of First Presbyterian Church are invited to make an estimated pledge for the year ahead. An estimated pledge is your projected one-year financial commitment to support Christ’s ministry in our congregation, the La Grande community, and the world.
Pledges are essential to FPC’s planning process. Each year, the elders who oversee our church’s ministries prayerfully discern goals, projects, and dreams; then they estimate the cost to achieve them. Once the 2027 estimated pledges are received, our next year’s budget is finalized, and leaders can take action on plans and goals.
We understand that people’s lives and situations do change. That’s why we ask for an estimated pledge, a best guess of what you might be able to give in 2027. It is not a contract. If you need to make a change to your estimated pledge over the course of the year, you can reach out to our Financial Secretary, Ellen Barton.
