Dear Ones,
Save the Date for October 8th and plan to be at worship and stay after for a special event you won't want to miss!
Author Mark Yaconelli is coming to FPC La Grande on October 8th as the guest preacher at the Ecumenical World Communion Sunday. This worship service will start at 10 AM.
Additionally, Mark will offer a workshop called "Sacred Stories," in which he will teach us about the power of storytelling to strengthen relationships, foster healing, bridge divisions, and renew hope in humanity. The workshop will begin about 20 minutes after the end of worship, and refreshments will be available.
I (Pastor Laura) studied community storytelling with Mark in 2020, and I can't recommend his work strongly enough!
Mark is the founder of The Hearth in Ashland, OR, and has authored several books, including Between the Listening and the Telling: How Stories Save Us. He is traveling around Oregon and throughout the U.S., sharing about the power of stories to connect us.
Oregonians can get a free copy of Between the Listening and Telling from the Ford Family Foundation using this link HERE.
I hope you will plan to join us on Oct. 8, from 10:00 AM-1 PM for worship and the workshop!
