As many of you have probably seen, there have been lots of updates from the CDC about masks especially if you are vaccinated. The Worship Committee met this afternoon to review what has been coming out of the CDC and the lasted information from the State of Oregon. Here is the changes/updates that were decided upon in regard to Sunday morning worship:
1) For the time being, masks will still be required for worship. We do no plan to be the "Are you vaccinated?" police and with the mixing of people who are and are not vaccinated, it is best to leave that protocol in place. The state is supposed to be coming out with additional guidelines soon since the CDC made their recommendations. We will be watching for those guidelines in discerning the next steps with masks.
2) After this Sunday, we will be removing the barriers that have roped off every other pew. Even with the green strings down, we encourage people to social distance.
3) After this Sunday, we will also be placing the hymnals, Bibles, and other items like offering envelopes back into the pews. Our local library quarantines books for three days before placing them back out for circulation. The longest I could find any recommendations for not using a book that had been out was 6 days. Our hymnals do not get used during the week, so the 7 days between services should be adequate.
Friends, we are getting closer! Be safe, be smart, and remember to continue to glorify God! Our county numbers continue to remain low and that is because of your diligence. Stay tuned for further updates.
Blessings,
Pastor Keith and the Worship Committee
