Sunday Morning Worship Info!

Sunday Morning Worship Info!

We are meeting in person and online to glorify Christ together at 9:30AM Sunday mornings!

We love children in worship! Our nursery is open, but we do not have a nursery attendant at this time. Parents are invited to listen to the service in the nursery while tending their children.

You may also join us online at www.facebook.com/groups/fpclagrande.
Please contact the church office for updates on group gatherings.

Christ's Peace,
Pastors Laura and Keith

  • Please mute yourself upon entry to the Zoom room. We will be trying to facilitate the flow of conversation, and muting yourself when you are not talking is helpful.
  • We will allow free-flow conversation later in the meeting, but at first we will invite you to tell a story of a moment of connection you have experienced in the past couple of weeks...connection with nature, other people, yourself, God--whatever story comes to you to share. Hudsons will start and then share the opportunity to speak by mutual invitation.
  • We will close no later than 11 am with prayer
Upcoming Spiritual Growth Opportunity: (as announced on this week's worship video):
Title: Your Most Life-Giving Story.
Dates: August 19, 26, Sept. 2, 9.
Time: 4:00-5:30pm (Pacific Time)
Who: Anyone who wants to grow in knowledge of self, others, and God; anyone seeking deeper conversation and a greater sense of connection in community. Members of any church (or no church) are welcome. Participants do not have to be local, since we are doing the gatherings by Zoom. Description: Spiritual Director and Pastor Laura Hudson will facilitate an online spiritual experience. Participants will discover new insight into their life stories in a group of four people on Zoom. We will use a storytelling format and prompts based on the book, Re-Creating a Life by Diane M. Millis: https://www.dianemillis.com/recreating-a-life. How: Please commit to bringing your full listening presence to all four of the weekly events. Zoom link will be sent the day before each session. Register here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSezlkV84pXjic73pUWiR__5S8IGnmuwUgq7jBASjgx98UV3JA/viewform?usp=sf_link

We won't have a Zoom Coffee Hour for Sunday as we will have drive through communion at the PFC from 10AM-Noon.  Please enter through the Spring Ave entrance and exit through the 6th Street exit.  We encourage you to turn left out of the parking lot so there is less chance of congestion at the intersection.  As Laura and Keith were traveling, they will not be handling the communion elements nor serving to minimize sharing any germs they may have picked up along the way.  Thanks to Connie Ingerson for helping with the serving!

FPC Midweek Connection 7/15/20 Late!

The Hudsons are back from our travel adventures. Here is a Midweek Connection video. Keith shares a number of announcements first, then Laura shares insights from the Bible Study she experienced as part of the 224th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) a couple of weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWnmeG4BJPc

Here is Steve Hamilton's address for you to send Birthday cards (his birthday is July 19) & letters of encouragement (note that you should not send cards with glitter, ribbons, stickers affixed to them--they will not get to him):
     Steve Hamilton
     c/o Union County Correctional Facility
     1109 K Ave.
     La Grande, OR 97850

Here are links sent by George at CHD about making masks, as mentioned by Keith:

And here are links related to the 224th General Assembly:

That's a lot of goodies for this week! We hope to see you at the Drive-Thru Communion this Sunday, July 19, 10am-12pm in the PFC parking lot. (Keith and Laura will not be serving, since we've been traveling, but we will wave at you from a safe distance).

Correct service for 7.5.20

Here is the link to the correct service! Thank you, Mary Helen for catching that!

Worship Info 7.5.20

Good morning, Saints!  Here is the link for Sunday's Worship Service:

Please excuse the couple of times there are 'odd' things happening with the video.  While recording with the phone, we were also recording (and playing) with our Mevo camera we hope to use into the future with recording and live streaming worship.  Well, someone (Keith) forgot to hit record on the phone and we discovered that after we were done.  So we watched the Mevo recording and decided it was okay enough so we didn't have to do it again.  A couple times it shows just the piano or someone's shoulder.  And it was also following movement so at times when people are talking, it moves a little bit.  Ah, technology.  Enjoy!
